Questions

What happens at our meetings?

We open with welcome, introductions and refreshments. We remind ourselves that confidentiality is our responsibility and that we are there to listen and support one another.

What happens next?

A regular attendee may open discussion and invite others to raise a topic for discussion.

Can anyone suggest a topic for future discussion?

Yes if there is sufficient interest. We can draw on someone we know with appropriate expertise. For example we can invite a solicitor to come and talk about Power of Attorney.

Is this a Death Cafe?

We are open to using Death Cafe materials e.g. using cards about end of life to structure the meeting and promote active discussion.

What is the nature of ELAM groups?

This depends who comes along in the day. Our meetings are a combination of individuals bringing their own questions or thoughts to share.

What is an ELAM group not?

It is neither a counselling or therapy group. However we can signpost on if requested.
